Licence terms
The Complete Guide to Music Composition: Individual Educator and Music Department Complete subscriptions. Plain-English terms for teachers, schools and their students.
1. The two subscriptions
Individual Educator is licensed to one named educator (the “licensee”), who uses their own login to the teacher portal. It covers the core teaching library: digital textbooks, lesson presentations, model compositions and engraved scores, audio and listening resources, and selected essential classroom activities.
Music Department Complete is licensed to one school or campus (the “licensee”), named when it is bought. It covers every authorised music teacher employed at that school or campus, each using their own named login, and includes the complete teaching library: everything in Individual Educator plus worksheet packs, lesson plans, schemes of work, curriculum planning, assessment and marking materials, complete teaching bundles and editable resources. It does not cover an academy trust, a group of schools or any other multi-site organisation; each school or campus needs its own subscription.
2. Individual Educator licence
This licence grants one named educator a non-transferable licence to access, download, print and use the included resources for their own teaching and educational purposes during an active subscription.
Student-facing materials may be printed or distributed to students directly taught by the licensed educator. The licence does not permit:
- sharing login details;
- sharing teacher resources with colleagues;
- uploading teacher resources to unrestricted shared departmental drives;
- redistributing, publishing or reselling the materials;
- using an individual licence in place of department-wide access.
3. Music Department Complete licence
This licence grants one school or campus the right for its authorised music teachers to access, download, print and use the included resources for teaching and educational purposes within that school or campus during an active subscription.
Authorised teachers may use the resources internally, including on the school’s own learning platform or shared drive where access is limited to the school’s staff and students. Resources may not be shared with other schools, trusts, tutors or external organisations, or published publicly.
4. Logins and fair use
Logins are personal and must not be shared. Each teacher can use the portal on a small number of their own devices. On Music Department Complete, the licence admin adds and removes teachers from the portal and should remove anyone who leaves the school.
Downloaded PDFs show the name of the licence holder (the educator or the school) and a licence reference, for example: “Licensed to: Example High School · Licence reference: TJM-ABCD-1234 · Tinashe Jera Music — Licensed Educational Resource”. They do not show an email address or any other private detail. To protect the resources, the portal keeps a monthly count of downloads per account; see the privacy notice.
5. Resources outside the subscriptions
Some resources are sold separately, and specialist premium publications and independent courses are not part of either subscription. Resources bought separately (teaching packs) are licensed to the buyer for their own teaching on the same terms as section 2, and they do not expire. Teaching packs are designed to complement a subscription: lesson presentations, textbooks and audio are part of the subscriptions. When a new term is released, subscribers receive it first, and its teaching packs go on sale later.
6. Length, renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed annually; there is no monthly billing. A subscription runs for one year and renews automatically each year unless it is cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from the teacher portal, and access continues until the end of the paid year. Card subscriptions renew on the card; invoiced subscriptions receive a new invoice before renewal. An Individual Educator subscription can be upgraded to Music Department Complete at any time: the new department year starts on the day of the upgrade, and the unused part of the Individual year is credited against its price. Updates to included resources, and for Music Department Complete new additions to the school library, are included during an active subscription.
7. When a subscription ends
When a subscription ends, access to the teacher portal, new downloads and updates ends (allowing a 14-day grace period for renewals and invoices in the post). Copies already printed for your students may continue to be used with those students until the end of the current academic year. Downloaded files should not be used for new teaching, shared or further copied unless the subscription is renewed.
8. Payment
Prices are shown in pounds and include VAT where it applies. Individual Educator is paid by card. Music Department Complete can be paid by card or by invoice payable within 30 days; access opens when the order is placed, and if an invoice remains unpaid after the grace period, access may be suspended until payment is received.
9. Ownership
All materials remain © Tinashe Jera Music. A subscription gives the licensee the right to use them as described above; it does not transfer ownership.
